Housing
Housing is one of the unique qualities of this program, you choose between apartment living with other students or homestay with a local family.
Most students choose to stay in group shared apartments with other program participants.
You will be living and studying just a few blocks away from the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery, the Galileo Museum, Medici Chapel, San Lorenzo Market, and some of Europe's most renowned outdoor spaces!
Apartments include
- Shared bedroom (supplemental charge for single room)
- Stocked kitchen with necessary pots, pans, dishware and utensils

Homestay includes
If you already speak some Italian and one of your goals is to improve your language skills, home stays are also available.

Housing Policy Overview
Due to the unique nature of Florence’s historic architecture, no two student apartments are exactly alike. Our housing portfolio spans a variety of layouts and styles, and while all units meet program standards for safety, location, and livability, we cannot guarantee uniformity in features or size.
It’s important to note that typical room dimensions, kitchen layouts, and appliance sizes in Italy may differ significantly from what students are accustomed to in the U.S. Living in Florence offers a culturally immersive experience, including adapting to local norms and lifestyle.
Housing assignments are finalized prior to arrival, and we are not able to accommodate roommate swaps or apartment change requests once the program has begun. We encourage students to approach the experience with flexibility and an open mind, knowing that each apartment contributes to the authenticity of living in Florence’s historic city center.
