Dr. André Siamundele (Ph.D. in French, Yale) is Program Director of the Wells College Exchange Program in Dakar. He has taught several years at a Peace Corps training center in Bukavu (Democratic Republic of Congo) where he led cross-cultural workshops aimed at introducing American youth to African cultures. His research interests include the African identity crisis as a pathological linguistic phenomenon through the emptiness of political discourse in the post-colonial era.
Professor Ousmane Sene is the Resident Director in Dakar. He organizes and oversees all program activities and stays in constant contact with the Wells program office in the US. As a faculty member at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop and Director of the West African Research Center, Professor Sene has a deep knowledge of the program curriculum. He has taught in American colleges and universities as exchange faculty and as a Fulbright scholar, and has written extensively on American and African literatures. The on-site program staff also includes Waly Faye, Awa Fall, Korka Sall, Dr. Ousmane Aly Pame, and Honorine Mendy.
The Exchange Program in Dakar is part of the Wells College Office of International Programs, Dr. Amy Staples, Director.
